Interact with exotic rhythms and voices through dance and identify musical sounds and patterns
Learn about music cultures outside the UK
Recordings include tracks played on xylophones, thumb pianos, rattles, gourds, drums, shakers and voices, and all participants will have the opportunity to play along with this traditional music using authentic instruments.
Workshops are tailored to suit your school and the age of children (suggested time is approximately 1 hour). They are suitable for KS1 and KS2 and address multiple facets of the national curriculum for Music.
SETTING / TECHNICAL: School hall or large classroom; children comfortable, but they will need room to move around; CD player/USB port for music and a separate system to show pictures on a large screen; table for display of instruments; microphone for presenter may be required
